• Quiz/scorecard details: your answers, your estimated level and any goals you select

• Waitlist and preferences: which courses you are interested in, your level, your goals

• Purchases (when selling is live): billing details, purchase history, payment confirmation (we do not store full card details)

• Cookies and similar technologies: to run the site, measure performance and improve marketing (where enabled)

The Wix platform and other tools we use may also collect technical information needed to operate the website.

Under UK cookie rules (PECR), you must be told about cookies and in most cases your consent is required for non-essential cookies.

Because we use Wix, you can display a cookie banner and manage consent settings through Wix tools.

YouTube embeds

We may embed videos from YouTube. Embedded videos can involve cookies or similar technologies. Where possible, we aim to use YouTube’s “privacy-enhanced mode” (youtube-nocookie) for embedded players.

We only share your data when needed to operate the service. This may include:

• Quiz/scorecard provider: ScoreApp 

• Analytics tools: Google Analytics

• Payment processor: Stripe, PayPal

• Professional advisers: accountants, legal advisers where necessary

 

These providers act as “processors” and are expected to protect your data.

10) How long we keep your data (retention)

We keep personal information only as long as needed:

• Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, or we may remove inactive subscribers after [12–24 months] of no engagement

• Quiz/scorecard leads: typically [12–24 months] unless you subscribe or request deletion

• Customer records: as required for accounting and tax purposes, usually 6 years in the UK

• Support messages: as long as needed to resolve issues and maintain reasonable records

We take reasonable steps to protect your data using appropriate technical and organisational measures. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we aim to use reputable platforms and good security practices.

12) Children

 

English By Louise is designed for adult learners. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
