These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") set out how you may use this website and buy products or services from English By Louise.
By using this website, joining our email list, completing a quiz, joining a waitlist, purchasing a course, membership or downloadable content, or booking lessons, you agree to these Terms.

2) Who these Terms apply to
Our website and services are intended for adult learners. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use this website or purchase any product.
3) Definitions

“Content” means videos, lessons, worksheets, downloads, emails, quizzes, guides and any materials we provide.

“Products” means digital downloads, courses, memberships, bundles or other paid items.

“Services” means any tutoring, coaching, feedback or support we provide.

“Membership” means any recurring subscription product, such as VIP Membership.

“Waitlist” means a registration of interest for an upcoming Product or Service.
4) Using this website
You agree not to:

We may suspend access to the website or services if we believe misuse is occurring.
5) Educational information, not guarantees
We provide English learning education and support. Results vary based on your starting level, effort, attendance and practice.
We do not guarantee:

a specific exam result

visa outcomes

job outcomes

a specific improvement level within a fixed timeframe

6) Quizzes, scorecards and level estimates
If we provide a quiz or scorecard, the result is an estimate based on your answers and is not an official certification. You remain responsible for confirming any required level for exams, employers or immigration purposes.
7) Waitlists
If you join a waitlist:

you agree we can email you about that waitlist and related updates

joining a waitlist does not guarantee a place on a course
-
we may limit spaces and prioritise based on readiness, level, goals or sign-up date
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails.
8) Purchases and payment
When Products and Services are available for purchase:

prices will be shown on the website in GBP and may be shown in other currencies

you must provide accurate billing information

you authorise us (and our payment processors) to charge the payment method you provide
Payments may be processed via third-party providers such as Stripe or PayPal (depending on what is enabled at the time).
9) Digital products, downloads and access
If you purchase a digital Product (download, course access, templates, videos):

you are granted a personal, non-transferable licence for your own use

you must not share, resell, upload or distribute the Content

access may be time-limited if stated at the point of purchase

you are responsible for ensuring your device and internet connection can access the Product
10) Membership terms (VIP or similar)
If you purchase a Membership:

it will renew automatically at the frequency shown at checkout unless you cancel

you can cancel anytime and your access will continue until the end of the current billing period (unless stated otherwise)

we may update Membership features over time to improve the service
We may suspend or terminate Membership access if there is abusive behaviour, misuse or non-payment.
11) Live courses and tutoring sessions
Where we offer live teaching (group or 1:1), you agree to:

attend on time and participate respectfully

not record sessions unless we explicitly permit it in writing

not share session links, logins or materials with others

Scheduling and rescheduling
If 1:1 lessons are offered, the booking rules will be stated at the time of booking. Unless otherwise stated:

cancellations with less than [24 hours] notice may be charged or treated as used
-
reschedules are offered where reasonable, subject to availability
Behaviour policy
We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination or abusive language. We may end a session or cancel access without refund if behaviour is unacceptable.
12) Feedback, marking and response times
If a Product or Membership includes personalised feedback (writing, pronunciation, speaking tasks):

the turnaround time will be stated on the relevant page

response times may vary during peak periods, illness or holidays
-
we may cap usage where needed to keep the service fair for all members
13) Refunds and cancellations
Your refund rights depend on what you buy and whether you are a consumer under UK law.
Digital content
For digital content delivered immediately, you may be asked at checkout to acknowledge that you are requesting immediate access and that you may lose certain cancellation rights once access begins.
Where we offer a satisfaction guarantee, it will be stated clearly on the sales page and will override this section.
Courses and memberships
Refund and cancellation rules for each course or membership will be shown at checkout and on the sales page. If a course is cohort-based (fixed start date), refunds may be limited after the course begins.
Mistakes or technical problems
If you cannot access a Product due to a technical issue on our side, contact us and we will work with you to resolve it. If we cannot reasonably fix the issue, we may offer an alternative or a refund.
14) Intellectual property
All Content is owned by English By Louise or licensed to us. This includes videos, worksheets, downloads, lesson plans, quizzes, scripts and website text.
You may not:

copy or republish the Content

share login access

resell any material

use the Content to create competing products or training
15) Third-party tools and embedded content
This website may include services or embeds provided by third parties, such as Wix for hosting and YouTube for video playback. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and policies.
We are not responsible for third-party websites, platforms or services.
16) Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud or personal injury caused by negligence.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:

we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as loss of profits, loss of business or loss of data)

our total liability for any claim related to a Product or Service will not exceed the amount you paid for that Product or Service
17) Changes to the website, products and these Terms
We may update the website, Content, Products and these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on the website with an updated date.
If changes materially affect an active Membership, we will take reasonable steps to notify members.
18) Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
